Diabetes Month, a dozen healthy recipes made just for you!
Posted on 02. Nov, 2012 by Ellen in Canola Recipes
November is Diabetes awareness month and I’m sharing 12 healthy recipes from CanolaInfo’s Diabetes Canada Calendar.
We are all touched by family and friends who have diabetes. My dad had it.
Why did CanolaInfo partner with the Diabetes Calendar? Because heart disease is one of the leading causes of death around the world and people with diabetes are especially at risk – more than 65% (2 out of 3) die from these afflictions. Heart attacks also occur earlier in life with diabetes.
A healthy heart is a happy heart and taking care of your heart is one of the most important things you can do for your health. Eating and cooking and following a heart healthy diet is the key. It significantly affects your risk and management of chronic diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke and cancer.
And we know that small changes can make a big difference. The Diabetes calendar is filled with easy to follow tips, information and recipes. One small change to make is having canola oil in your kitchen. It’s the all-in-one oil that can be used for just about any cooking application as far as fats and oils are concerned. Plus you can’t get more heart-smart. Canola oil has the least saturated fat of all common culinary oils and is free of trans fat and cholesterol.
