One Crust…Endless Possibilities…

Sweet Shortbread Crust

Keep it simple this holiday season and master one cookie base then get creative with your toppings.  Tell us about your favourite topping to our base and you will be entered to win one of our prize packs! 

Here is our twist on a Sweet Shortbread Crust that you can use this holiday season.  It uses heart healthy canola oil, ground almonds, flour, baking powder, salt and icing sugar.  Printer friendly version is here.  Be sure to check out the toppings below that we have perfected for you!

 

Sweet Shortbread Crust
Ingredients:
  • 3/4 cup icing sugar (175 mL)
  • 1 cup all purpose flour (250 mL)
  • 3/4 cup ground almonds (175 mL)
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder (2 mL)
  • 1/4 tsp salt (1 mL)
  • 2/3 cup canola oil (150 mL)
Directions:
Mix dry ingredients together in large mixing bowl. Stir well. Add canola oil all at once. Using fingers, mix ingredients until dough is the consistency of peas. Pat into a greased 8×8” (20×20 cm) pan. Bake at 350F (180C) for 15 – 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
